Artifact Collection
The
Jasper Yellowhead Museum and Archives house over 3000 artifacts
in the collection storage. Some of the
more interesting items include woolen bathing suits worn
at Miette Hot Springs, wooden shovels used on the Skyline
Trail in 1911, and many beautiful examples of Suzzette
Swift’s beadwork. The collection continues
to grow with donations of new artifacts arriving regularly.
Projects
We have just begun the “Collections Access” project which will
make more of the artifact collection available to the public. During
this project we will be updating and adding to our existing artifact database. This
database also includes photographs of the artifacts. Upon completion of
this project a computer terminal will be available at the museum for visitors
to view the entire collection.
Project partially funded by the Government of Canada
through the Department of Canadian Heritage Museum Assistance
Program.
